"We are eternally grateful to Dr. Fernandez for the care she provided to our beloved Yellow Lab, Flashy. Flashy was undergoing chemotherapy for an aggressive mast cell tumor. During Flashy's chemotherapy treatments she displayed lethargic behavior and experienced a loss of appetite. Dr. Fernandez performed several acupuncture treatments and put her on an herbal regimen. The acupuncture and herbs rejuvinated Flashy and restored her appetite, making her more comfortable and at peace during her final days with us."

"Approximately 8 months ago, my female Lab/Chow mix, Heide, was diagnosed with skin cancer. Her skin was flaking and no matter what I tried, I couldn't get rid of it. I finally took her to a dermatologist, who took a biopsy and found cancer. Her suggestion was to put her on Lomustine (a chemotherapy drug) and she told me that Heide would probably only have a few short, uncomfortable months to live.
At that time I turned to my friend Dr Liz and she immediately changed Heidi's diet to one of fish, carrots, and garlic, (which she loves by the way). She then started a regimen of acupuncture and Chinese herbs to help improve her life. Needless to say, it all worked beautifully. Dr Liz comes in every other week and does acupuncture and Heide acts like a puppy again. She is thriving and the cancer is in check.
I'd like to take a moment to talk about Dr Liz. She's one of those rare people that radiates love and compassion. The animals love her and know that their unconditional love is returned. For example, I have another Lab and he hides when anyone comes into the house. The first time Dr. Liz walked into my house, he immediately walked over to her and nuzzled her hand to be pet; that spoke volumes to me. Her presence is one of calm and peace. She does everything she can to help her patients. She has integrity and a passion for her work that is rare these days. I trust her with the care of my dogs.
I thank God daily for having Dr Liz in my life."

"Whistler is an 11-year-old Husky with a dynamic, outgoing personality. Within the past 12 months he had slowed down dramatically. He would sleep most of the time, eat less, and sometimes limp. Based on his laboratory work and x-rays, I made the diagnosis of mild arthritis and “Old Age”. He had lost his bounce.
Dr. Fernandez examined him and made a Chinese medicine diagnosis of Bony – Bi Syndrome. By the second of his weekly acupuncture treatments, Whistler had regained his zest for living, his appetite, and his bounce. In fact, he is a pest! Acupuncture is doing for him what Rimadyl and glucosamine could not."

"Hi, my name is Pedro. I am a very cute 10-pound Chihuahua. I don’t remember much of my life before the night I got out of my yard and got lost. Then I was hit by a car and taken to the local emergency clinic for care. They told me I had a broken pelvis. All I know is that I hurt and could not walk. My people never came to get me so I went to the local shelter. Lucky for me I was adopted by one of the nice nurses who took care of me at the emergency clinic. Also lucky for me, one of the doctors working there was Dr. Fernandez. She really worked some magic with those tiny needles. The needles hurt just a little going in but then I really liked the feeling when she turned on the electroacupuncture. I would just take a deep breath and go to sleep. After every treatment I felt a lot better. I could walk better and was less painful. After about 5 treatments I thought I could jump from tall buildings but my new Mom said NO. She did let me finally go hiking with the big dogs. She thought she would have to carry me but I had no intention of being carried. I ran rings around all those big dogs!! I have a great life now and I owe a big thanks to Dr. Fernandez for all her knowledge and dedication."

"Frances is about a 7 year old Dobe. I was blessed when I was able to adopt her about 4 years ago. Last fall she had her spleen removed because it had a cancerous tumor on it. I was devastated emotionally, but Frances has been incredibly strong. She began a very rigorous chemotherapy regimen a week after her surgery. Dr. Fernandez began acupuncture treatments at the same time. (Her nausea from the chemo was dramatically improved after each acupuncture treatment.) This combination, I am convinced, gave her the best fighting chance of living cancer-free while balancing the harsh effects of the toxins she was receiving. It has been almost a year and Frances is doing great. Dr. Fernandez’ expertise and devotion was committed to Frances beyond her three months of chemotherapy. Above all expectations, was her kindness with me and understanding the emotions that come into play with making tough choices for the ones we love. I am grateful for the extended quality time I am having with my favorite girl."

"Dr. Fernandez is a caring and compassionate doctor who has truly performed a miracle with Woof. The degeneration of his spine was causing him pain and making it impossible for him to walk. After his first acupuncture treatment, his walking was noticeably improved. He has continued to improve and he is now back to doing everything he's not supposed to be doing!"

"I can't recommend Liz highly enough, she lovingly saw my dear Oliver throughout the last years of his life. The love, compassion and spirit she gave to Oliver and myself was extraordinary. He definitely benefited from her acupuncture treatments, at age 14 he became pain free during the course of her treatments, his senior years were truly better and the quality of his life was enhanced because of her care, concern and treatment. You would be lucky (and blessed) to have Liz as your care taker of any animal you may have in your family."

"Our 16 year old cat (Miss Manners) was approximately five years old when we adopted her into our home – off the street – and she settled in nicely. She is the love of our lives.
She was diagnosed with renal failure two years ago, and we are on a mission to make her life as comfortable as possible, with the least amount of trauma. The routine trips to the vet’s office for blood work left us never really sure if her numbers were accurate, or just the result of a highly traumatized cat.  We chose instead to monitor her very closely at home, knowing what signs would indicate that a doctor visit would be absolutely necessary.
We chose to enlist the services of Dr. Liz Fernandez to pay regular visits to our home for acupuncture sessions.  How lucky Simi Valley, California, has been to have a doctor that comes to you, and that is just what Miss Manners needs.
Dr. Liz is gentle. After each acupuncture session, Miss Manners is more energetic, her appetite has increased, and she is also grooming herself now – it has been a long time since she did that.  She enjoys going out in the back yard now to find her 'sun spot,' and actually attempts to catch a lizard or bird now and then, which we know would never happen, but it is so rewarding to watch her try.  She is like a new kitty.  We are amazed at what the treatments have done.  She is actually gaining weight because of her increased appetite.
At first we had Dr. Liz come every week, but as Miss Manners improved, she now comes once a month.  We fully intend to proceed with this treatment plan.  Miss Manners has become very vocal and playful.  What an amazing difference.  There is no doubt in our minds that the acupuncture treatments are energizing her immune system as well as improving her quality of life, and that is our goal.
We could not begin to thank Dr. Fernandez for providing this loving service in the comfort of our own home. The sessions are quiet and pleasant for our little girl.
We will always be indebted to you, Dr. Liz, for your care and compassion towards animals, especially toward our 'little girl, Miss Manners'. "
